We are starting 2026 with a focus on accessibility in preparation for the upcoming April deadline for compliance. We are also continuing efforts to address outstanding platform dependency updates and revisiting form styles to be used not only in SiteNow, but by the wider-campus community.
Features
- File caching adjustments. Non-document type files are now cached up to a year for performance purposes. Document type files are still cached for an hour to ensure browsers fetch updated documents.
- Aggregated file delivery for website styles, javascript, and fonts.
- We have started scanning and collecting backend accessibility issues for custom SiteNow routes that we have implemented. These haven't been visible to us since Siteimprove cannot traverse routes behind authentication.
- Added dedicated form element pages within UIDS to help aid in the redesign process.
- Upgraded dependencies related to our image gallery functionality that resolved some accessibility issues.
- Introduced a white accordion label background option for use in SiteNow v3.
Fixes
- Decorated remaining icon implementations with ARIA role "presentation."
- Fixed an issue where the special characters button was unusable within WYSIWYG text areas.
- Fixed an issue where floated images covered the underlines associated with headings.
- Loading FontAwesome fonts from a CDN instead of from within each website.
