Orientation
- Vertical menu (default):
- Displays as a vertical menu in the sidebar
- It is set to create an active trail of children menu items starting with the second level menu items. This means that if the page as child pages set underneath it in the menu, they will display on the page.
- The "Number of levels to display" is set to 1. You can change it to a maximum level of 4.
- Horizontal menu:
- You can set this to display as a horizontal menu by selecting the "Horizontal" style option at the top of the block.
- The menu will only appear horizontal if it is placed within a one-column layout section.
- The "Number of levels to display" is set to 1.
- The "Initial Visibility level" is set to 2.
Additional options
Visibility Options
- This section is collapsed by default and is for advanced configuration of your menu.
- By default "Make the initial visibility level follow the active menu item" is checked.
- You can adjust the "Initial Visibility level will be" to be "Active menu item" or "Children of active menu item."
- "Active menu item" will show sibling pages in the navigation.
- "Children of active menu item" will only show child pages of the active page.
- You can adjust the "Initial Visibility level will be" to be "Active menu item" or "Children of active menu item."
- If you uncheck "Make the initial visibility level follow the active menu item" the option to set a "Fixed parent item" becomes available. This setting is useful if you want to display the same navigation throughout a section of pages.
- If you choose this option, you will need to adjust the "Initial visibility level" in the "Menu levels" section based on the depth that you selected in the "Fixed parent item" selection. An "Initial visibility level" of 1 usually works best for this selection.
