Region items can provide a solution for static content across every page of your site. If you would like to consistently have a Call to action, Affiliation details, Button links, or any other relevant data show across every page of your site, Region items are where you would put that content.

Types of Region Content

There are two types of region content with different uses and behaviors.

After Content

After content region items appear as sticky to the bottom of every page, meaning it will be always be visible as the user scrolls up and down the page. This content can only have buttons placed within it, and should be used for links to content which will likely be useful to users regardless of which page they are viewing.

Pre Footer

Pre footer region items appear between a page's content and the footer. The content can have one component added to it, including text areas, calls to action, and buttons. This region is a great place for information that may be relevant to a user regardless of which page they are viewing, but which is still secondary to the specific content available on that page.

Configuring Region content

To configure Region content, first log in to your site and navigate to the "Region settings" page under Configuration -> SiteNow -> Region settings. To create a new region item to place on your site, simply click the "Add region item" button in either the "After content" or "Pre footer" sections. This will direct you to a page where you can add a reference title for your new region item (Note: these are a type of content called "Fragments", and can also be found under Content -> Fragments). When you are done creating this title, click "Save" to be redirected back to the region settings page.

You will now notice the new region item will be listed the Region items section to which you added it. In this section, you can edit the layout of your region items by clicking the "Layout" button to the right of the name of the region item. Alternatively, you can click the arrow next to Layout if you would like to edit the name of your item, or delete it completely.

When you click "Layout", you will be directed to a Layout builder edit form. From here, you can configure the layout of this region item like any other Page item. Once you are done creating the content that you would like to appear in the Region, clicking "Save layout" will redirect you back to the Region Settings page.

Finally, to set your new item as an active Region item, draw your attention to the "Active after content region" or "Active pre footer region" sections on the Region Settings page. In the content field of either section, start typing the name of your previously created region item and it should autocomplete. Select the desired item from the autocomplete list and then click the "Save configuration" button at the bottom of the page.

Congratulations! You have now set a new region item, and you should see it across all pages on your site. Once you have region content saved, you can make edits to the block in layout builder on any page of the site where it appears. Simply click the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner and select "Configure region settings."
